NEEDS OF THE CLIENT
The client needed a tool for monitoring their resources across location and they needed a detail view of each of their individual assets. The system and technique used by the client at the time were time-consuming and inefficient and infective. The client needed a solution which corrected all the existing shortfalls.
CHALLENGES
- A vast number of assets across locations.
- Individual assets had individual or more characteristics.
- Monitoring of these individual assets.
- Pinpointing of characteristics of individual assets in real time.
OUR SOLUTION
Our solution was to use a GIS-based solution instead of traditional rows and columns, using GIS meant that each and individual location can be accessed as a single data attached entity. We used Geo Server, Open Layers and LeafletWe used MongoDB for the backend framework so as to have a fast and efficient database. Node Js was used to handle all client-side scripting due to fast nature.
